>>47531025>Gen 6The first of the 3 bad gens. The transition to 3D was harder on Pokemon than it was on Sonic. Lack of content, casualization of the series, ruination of competitive, addition of Fairy type, megas blew up power creep to a whole 'nother level, and the nerfing of offensive attacks made stall more prevalent than ever. The games are awful, with loads of handholding and railroading. Less side paths and optional content than even Gen 1. Game is incredibly short and easy. OR/AS were terrible remakes that were objectively worse than Emerald.
>Gen 7Barely any improvements upon Gen 6. Balance became even more askew. Graphically an improvement, and it played a bit faster, but the games were even more handholdy and railroady. USUM are the only 3rd/4th versions that don't improve upon the base games, but are a sidegrade.
>Gen 8Completely irredeemable in hindsight. After this generation is not the most recent, all the defenders will abandon it because the only thing it has going for it is that it has an online community. Even though it uses the same models as the previous 3D games, Game Freak couldn't be bothered to just import the files for missing Pokemon. EXP share is incapable of being turned off, making S/S the easiest games in the entire series, even easier than Gen 1 with its nonexistant movesets for NPCs.
