That being said, the key difference is, in a full Double battle, those 2 people that you're battling against only ever have six Pokemon total, and you're allowed to send out two Pokemon of your own. Here, as far as I know, you can have twelve Pokemon and can send out two, while the other guy's only allowed to send out one Pokemon against you and is still stuck at the 6-Pokemon limit.
