>>51823112I have never lost interest in Pokemon.
I started with Sapphire, but was first exposed to the anime and my friend's copy of Silver. Pokemon was never cool all throughout my elementary and middle school experiences, and I was bullied for it. My small group of Mormon weeb friends and I played together every day, doing our own little playthroughs, trading, or Platinum's co-op stuff. I still even have some of their mons to this day, though I doubt none of them play anymore. I moved out of state eventually, and in my new high school nobody gave a shit, so it was pretty chill. I've never been without friends who also play so it's pretty nice overall.
I'm not particularly nostalgic anymore either, because replaying those old games with a critical eye gave me a deeper understanding and appreciation for them.
Any "societal" pressure to "grow out" of Pokemon, whether from baitposters or the wider world runs off me like water on a raincoat. I'll probably play Pokemon with my kids if they're interested, and I'll be playing until I die. Life is too fleeting and precious to not enjoy what you're passionate about.
Chris, if you're browsing tonight, I want you to know you're one of the best nigganiggas I know
