On the one hand, it's great to be showing off the cards that you feel pride for, especially if they are your own cards that you graded yourself.
But on the other hand, I feel sour about displaying a fucking 3.5 (CGC no less, so you know it's mangled) as if it is some sort of accomplishment. It seems like spending a lot of money on a piece of crap and then being proud of it.
It reminds me of the metagross gold star pasta. Spending hundreds of dollars on a mangled gold star card and then saying it's just as good as any other gold star card. I'd rather not even get the card at all if it costs hundreds to get something destroyed. Just save up for a cleaner copy.
