People who are passionate about something tend to want to spill their guts about and teach others who are eager to learn about it. They also tend to think that someone paying attention to them rambling about their hobby makes that person a good conversationalist.
Conversely, if you're just lying about being interested and don't actually give a shit about any of this, you're probably just going to disgust her. That's all assuming this isn't bait in the first place.
