>>36891011Taking a good look at Incineroar's ridiculously detailed model compared to other Pokemon in Smash and even other characters in general, it makes me think Incineroar was originally planned for Pokken, managed to get far enough into development to have a complete model, and then TPC stomped on in and said "fuck you, this cat's got better places to be", took the model and told them to put in another starter as table scraps before later presenting Sakurai with the sole option of Incineroar for Smash.
All of this is probably the result of Masuda suddenly deciding that Incineroar was going to be the shillmon of Gen 7 when there didn't appear to be any set contenders aside from those who would "naturally" take the role had they gave it enough time with no meddling.
