>Picked up two PikaRom decks and a three-pack Rebel Clash blister from Target (one PikaRom deck) and Walmart (PikaRom deck and the blister)>Target already shipped my stuff out yesterday but Walmart is slaking.I should've waited for Target to restock but that's foresight for ya...
>>43655793>So I don’t know anything about different types of formats within the ptcg community.Standard is basically a format that uses sets released within a two-year timeframe and a certain amount of sets rotating out at the end of the tournament cycle. Expanded is largely unrestricted Black and White-on format with some key cards being banned. And Unlimited, a format that is largely ignored by TPCi for multiple reasons, is a Base Set-on format with no restrictions whatsoever.
Japan has, along with the above, a DP-on format called Palace that allows cards from between Diamond and Pearl and the most recent set with some bans and a unique list of cards that can be used so long as a deck doesn't exceed a certain limit.
>But it sounds like something like a sealed deck or booster draft could fix these things. Those already happen to some extent, that's what prereleases are kind of like.
>Or, i don’t know. A tournament where all GX and Z cards are banned. This idea ALWAYS comes up when someone brings up a way to balance the game and it essentially boils down to calling the person who suggested it monumentally retarded
(and rightfully so) and pointing out that the game will still be reduced to having decks ranked by how well they do in tournaments.
