Take a listen to FireRed and Let's Go's respective takes on the Pokémon Mansion theme:

FireRed brings the harsh, overtly electronic Game Boy channels, traditionally relegated to accompaniment roles in the game's soundtrack, to the forefront, while Let's Go temporarily abandons the game's lush, flowing sound for a percussive, staccato arrangement. In both cases, the themes' arrangements jar the player out of their typical listening experience just as much as the area they play in jars the player out of their typical visual and narrative experience, giving rise to an emotional tension most people perceive as 'unnerving' or 'creepy'—perfectly understandable feelings when being thrust from the familiar to the unfamiliar.
