Most things are too easy to obtain, and loose their value.
We need an extensive end-game and a lot of stuff to look forward to.
Nothing's confirmed to happen, but here're some of the things we've come up with:
Unique In-Game Titles
Impossible Prize Pokemon (making pokemon that're rare to get, impossible to get and turning them into prizes)
Best held items and tms
Potions
Impossible MC items
Rods (and other impossible to get Pixelmon items)
Legend Orbs
MC Friendly Mob Eggs
This isn't prize related, but I'm also considering making Shiny Pokemon rarer.
There'll be all kinds of small prizes, but what matters most are the big prizes.
I'll also be adding two major things (apart from all the other stuff planned) once Amazon stops raping me.

*OP prefers an actual item and I prefer a text based form of currency, so I'll make it so, that the text based form of currency is interchangeable with golden nuggets, and that both are used for different things, this way, mining gold will serve an even bigger purpose.
Last but not least, not sure if I previously announced this, but I'll attempt adding a 'choose your starter town' option, which will include some points far from everything else, so that new regions can be created, this will make various Leagues and Gyms possible.
