In other words, he robbed the game timeline of a highly beloved character just because he personally only likes dialogue from humans. It's long been the case that the writers have a habit of only caring about humans and mostly pushing the Pokemon to the side, sometimes even handling them as if they're "objects". So yes, even the creators of the series can be wrong about things. If one of the creators of the franchise says "Pokemon are mere beasts", or they make one of the characters say it, they're wrong.
