Gen1 was a fun, it got better when the anime aired and my kid self just loved it.
Gen2 was when the anime stopped being fun for me, but the games were still cool, even if there far too few pokemon and even less cool ones.
Gen3 had lot's of new pokemon plus the remakes that made my nostalgia boner gigantic, so clearly i love it, even if looking back, i might be a bit biased for it since it was the game i mostly played + the 1st i actually beat it.
Gen4 had less pokemons, and they were terrible, with the cross gen evos being mostly mixed and since i wasn't very attached to gen2, the remakes didn't change my opinions in it.
Gen5 was amazing, so many new pokemons, the story didn't feel like a copypasted 3rd gen one like 4th gen felt, animated poke gifs, the gym leaders and MCs have great designs. My only resentment for it was the starters and the fact 3rd gen remake didn't happen here.
Gen6 is just a disappointment for me, sprites replaced for 3d models, the smallest ammount of new pokes so far, the use of the new fairy type being the worst possible, the whole concept of fucking megas and the 1st gen unnecessary wanking. The 3rd gen remakes that didn't felt as well made as the other remakes is just the nail in the coffin to define this as my love for pokemon.
Hopefully gen7 makes me like pokemon again, or just go even more full retard with it, digimon tier full retard.
