For the record, i love Garbodor, its unique in its own way, its design is clever and it can be useful if used right.
Gen 1-5 has inanimate object pokemon, some are great, some arent, deal with it. Some people dont like a few pokemon and dont constantly push it in peoples faces that they dislike it. They do this for two reasons, they are aware that they dont like said pokemon and because they arent dicks, they let it lie and just dont use it. Secondly, they know that people dont give a shit.
