>>47303993>But of course it takes a lot of time and money to take care of 6 or more pokemons, it's a full time job. The character we play in the games is an exception. The majority of people don't live from pokemon battles, and therefore don't have the means to have many of them.Agreed, this helps feed into my headcanon about how every Pokemon protagonist is a child prodigy, which is why owning & maintaining Pokemon is so easy when it's difficult to others.
You never have to spend money on feeding them, giving proper housing besides boxes & Poke Balls (which would be short term transportation or storage), or veterinary & sports medicine care (different from Pokemon Centers, where your Pokemon just have minor injuries, sicknesses & exhaustion taken care of). As well as feeding & clothing yourself. Imagine owning a Snorlax, which eats 900 lbs of food per day. Even if you feed him nothing but Ramen Noodles & old bakery food, feeding one would still take a heavy toll on your finances. This is why you never see Snorlax outside of the teams of rivals, champions, Elite Four members or gym leaders.
Most Pokemon Leaguers would need sponsorships to stay afloat, which was kind of addressed in SwSh. That, & it's been confirmed in a MattPat video that getting your income from defeating random trainers would keep you very poor. I know that most 4chan users don't like him, but I do, so IDGAF.
