>>46360892You sound like the kind of liberal who would say a fully grown 17 year old young adult is still a “child”, categorizing then effectively with a 7 year old.
Of course their brains aren’t “finished” developing. Do we even know if there is a “finality” to brain development? If you keep using your brain throughout your life you can form new neural pathways well into your senior years. That proves nothing. We should just give up and assume young people are stupid and there’s nothing we can do about it?
Most people do grow out of immaturity and relative stupidity, but it’s the depths and degrees of that stupidity that lingers into their adulthoods that matter. Plus, I don’t know where you’re from and how old you are, but most people ARENT advancing past a high school level of crystal and emotional intelligence. These people are developmentally arrested to a point that even someone like you could agree is detrimental to a society.
By the way, you don’t have to name philosophers, that’s not the point. My point was even with less knowledge relative to the present, past societies had comparatively smarter young adults, even with the trends of immaturity and less developed brains in consideration.
