Why is it that in the year of our Lord 2013 it is still impossible to reverse trade new pokemon to older gen games? I understood why that was the state of things when gen II came out, as there was no mechanism to update the games via online updates, so your gen II pokemon were stuck in gen II-land. Meanwhile, in the present day, it is still impossible to trade from gen V to gen IV. Nintendo could release an online update to remedy this. The information required to add new Pokemon to an existing game would be no more than a few megabytes and the values could just be added to an existing template. Nintendo will of course never do this. Why? Do you think they will ever do it? Is it just bad business? Is the demand for such a feature too low?
