>>40039599I think it might be because of the general idea that if Ash wins a Pokemon League then his story is over. I mean, that's what people always thought, but when it comes to the writers, I don't know what's the reasoning behind letting Ash win or not, nor do I know who is ultimately in charge of the decision. Maybe it's Game Freak themselves, who knows really.
>Kalos was a nice region but it made 100x more sense for him to win in Sinnoh.I don't know, back when i was watching DP the idea of Ash possibly winning the League never once crossed my mind and as soon as the cast mentioned a mysterious trainer with a Darkrai, which i believe happened in the first or second episode of the Sinnoh League i already knew Ash was going to lost to him. Anyway, i wasn't really mad when Ash lost in Sinnoh because he went out with a bang but in XY/XYZ I felt like they really went full "Ash mission this season is to win the Kalos League" so when it didn't happen it just felt like complete bullshit to me. But deep inside i wanted him to lose because i didn't like the stupid frog nor his companions.
