Binacle is a pair of goose barnacles colonizing a rock. They aren't really growing out of it, and can detach from their rock at any time. Barbaracle is a larger goose barnacle colony anchored to an extra rock. It's almost the same thing as Diglett -> Dugtrio or Magnemite -> Magneton, except done much better this time with inspirations from Greek myth and Middle Eastern iconography visible in the final design.
