Rest well, proud lioness - you will not be forgotten.
Confident and perhaps a little cocky, I moved to Geosenge to at least get the second battle against Lysandre out of the way. With two 'Mons in training under my belt, it was perhaps a bit risky, but the confrontation certainly went well enough initially. Cold Iron dented Mienshao fairly significantly, and I was lucky enough to have its SD-boosted High Jump Kick miss. Kite OHKOed Pyroar with a Hydro Pump after tanking a Fire Blast and Hyper Voice post-switch.
Then came Gyarados, which I dreaded, but Escavalier proved surprisingly potent in dealing with him as well. Whittling down with not very effective attacks was bothersome, but Iron Defense was a blessing, and barring a crit Aqua Tail though +4 Defense, she didn't have much trouble.
And then, Honchkrow. Aware of its frailty, I sent Vitani out, hoping to use her potent special attack to mop things up. She tanked a Night Slash on the switch, and I was sure she could last another to weaken Honchkrow greatly, at the very least.
And then Honchkrow's retaliation scored a crit.
Cold Iron cleaned up, but it is a heavy loss to take, and with her gone, all of my first six 'Mons barring Skitty are dead. Ignis has been taken in as a very promising Fire-type replacement, and I am still considering the option of Snover, Chinchou or Jolteon.
The march continues.
