>Gym Battles that are only "difficult" because of an arbitrary level cap, blatantly overpowered and stacked-against-you field effects, and being stuck with shitmons>Sidequests are just filler that pad out the game length without actually adding anything meaningful, and don't give you any good places to actually grind because HIGH-END COMPETITIVE TEAMS>You can't breed for what feels like an eternity oh but the self-inserts get Egg Moves because HIGH-END COMPETITIVE TEAMS>HMs aren't even available>"Powerful TMs" meaning anything remotely useful aren't available AT ALL until after the 5th Gym, Level 45, which takes far longer than you'd expect because every Gym has some bullshit the game forces to further pad out game time and delay you getting your Badge>TMs go back to being worthless until five badges later at Level fucking 60>Oh but the Gym Leaders get all the TMs because HIGH-END COMPETITIVE TEAMSReborn's idea of "difficulty" is purely artificial, not at all achieved through intelligent game design. Like pitting you against a Mega Evolution ripoff Level 22 Tangrowth while you're carrying a mid-stage Starter and a bunch of garbage like Kricketune around maybe Lv18, with an extra 50 in its defenses, Grass/Poison so you can't poison it, Filter to weaken super effective hits, on a field effect blatantly in its favor, Growth that's Nasty Plot and Swords Dance in one because of said field effect to boost its already broken-for-this-point offenses, Mega Drain to restore its HP and deals x1.5 damage because of said field effect, Vine Whip that does x1.5 damage because of said field effect, and a move it can't actually legally learn (Acid Spray) to prevent special tanking.
The only reason for you to defend it so hard (and badly) is if you either a) work on it, or b) have deluded yourself into thinking any of it is of actual quality. It isn't. It really, demonstrably isn't.
