That's why villains like Giovanni and Ghetsis makes sense, because they already understand that the pokemon world is perfect as is, and they would rather exploit that for themselves than changing it "for the better". Since when has overpopulation or a lack of resources have ever been a problem in the pokemon world? Makes no sense that we're supposed to just take villains like Lysandre's word for it, because Pokemon World = Our Earth, right? Wrong.
