Disaster struck against Koga. I should've just spammed Psychic with Starmie but I figured Sandslash would be safer against Muk. Big mistake. It started getting free turns off of Dig and getting way too much damage with Toxic and I ended up losing Primeape, Sandslash, and Electrode. I just blew all my money on Thunderbolt when Shock Wave would've been better, that's ironic. In hindsight I guess the play was probably just spamming Psychic with Starmie.
And for more silly stuff, I tried to grind a Rattata so I could dupes clause cheese Cinnabar Mansion for a Grimer of my own and I thought the double battle left of Celadon would be good since they use Rapidash/Ninetales and Starmie can just spam Surf but Ninetales has Quick Attack so I get stuck with a Raticate encounter. Desperate for Grimer, I do the most sane thing and go for the obscure 1% Super Rod Grimer encounter in Celadon City. After throttling Magikarp for the better part of 40 minutes, we'll see if it's worth it lol.
At least Parasect is alive! We have a lot of grinding to do before Sabrina but frankly I think Parasect + Starmie should be enough for her. Here's hoping.
>>55248024X/Y just decided to throw a bunch of shit between Gyms 1 and 2 and then smack you with the next few gyms. It's bizarre.
Shame about Furfrou, seems like a fun mon. I love the ninja theme you have going on with your team, and double dog is cool too. Never underestimate Magneton, crazy that it could tank a Dig like that (though I guess Furfrou isn't the strongest.)
>>55248044It's definitely cheesy. I get the logic that it could be "harder" because in theory you could grind 6 Magikarps but you can guarantee encounters a lot of times which seems to go against the spirit of a nuzlocke. On the other hand, having a diverse team is probably more fun than being spammed with early rodents and stuff so I can see both sides.
