>>50709514Because the power gap between normal trainers and champions are much bigger. We seen this very bluntly with Paul vs Cynthia. Doesn't matter if Alain got into the top 8 finals. It only proves Alain is at lest Elite level and the finals had enough room after champions took the rest of the slots, and last time I checked even Elite 4 members tend to still have difficult times facing champions.
