I had always passed up this guy as a kid. "Water/ice is dumb, it's not even strong against Charizard!" Half the time I'd forget to grab it in Silph Co. When I first got Soul Silver, I decided to use mons I had never used before, and caught one as my water type. She then proceeded to carry me all the way to victory against Red, single-finned.
It can learn practically anything, it's tough enough to take abuse, and strong enough to dish it right back. It learns all the moves to make Smogonfags screech. It even learns Perish Song if I get sick of dealing with stalls.
My team is never complete without my own Loch Ness Monster and I only regret not learning just how good it is, sooner.
