>>32976932>>32976693Adding to this while also responding to this anon. I've seen the Canipa Effect video where the guy goes on and on about how OLM using Toon Boom is the best thing ever
which it is but his arguments and absolutely triggered tone is what shoes in that he's sucking SM's cock too hard.
The whole "art style that compliments the animation and makes it easier on the animators" is bullshit and him admitting that the animation studio is taking short cuts which indirectly allows them to put out half-assed animation for the episodes, completely counters the point of his video. People would rather characters that are always on model because people, especially kids, don't like seeing shit like pic related. And him trying to excuse it as some kind of blessed solution for the animators is even more bullshit. Round and flat faces with constant off model shots, badly drawn stills on purpose, and constant use of speed lines or non-dynamic environments is not a solution to anything and should never be seen as a good thing. He even took the time to show scenes from shows such as My Hero Academia, Shaman King, One Punch Man, Fate, and Space Dandy that use character designs that are flat out the exact opposites of the round, flat, and bubbly art style that SM has and tries to group it in with those shows to parade the idea that the style works. It doesn't.
Just compare this
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O7VE4FkzxKUto
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3MVnXAqvIDE&t=2sSM is filled with speed lines, the background and stadium is barely utilized besides for the CGI Z-Move scene, there is little actual dynamic movement, the expressiveness of the characters is almost nonexistent, there is a lot of disjointed movement, a lot of stills with the only thing moving being mouths, and there is very little contact with anything. Impact of moves are shown with flashes and smoke rather than actual visual impact.
What a complete pretentious tryhard.
