Obviously I can't force anyone to do anything but even you would be like "uh, are you sure?" if you saw someone who refused to play one of the best pieces in any game simply for vain reasons and nothing to do with the game itself. If the answer was "yeah, I tried it and things like it, but in the group I play with it doesn't work on my team because....." A justified gameplay reason would obviously be fine. "I don't like it because I don't like it" isn't a valid reason for ANYTHING, forget pokemon.
