This was my Diamond team. I never figured out how to get past the Sunyshore guy for ages so I think my Empoleon must have reached Level 65 when I eventually did go to Mt. Coronet. I have no idea what the fuck I was grinding on to reach that level, but you can never underestimate the autism of a 6 year old with all the free time in the world. I never got to Cynthia, but I remember using Dialga to beat Volkner.
I remember evolving Prinplup into Empoleon and showing my mum and she told me it was named after Napoleon, which made it so cool to me and is why it's still one of my favourites today. I also for some reason thought that only your starter could evolve, and everything else would stay as whatever you caught it as. When my Bidoof evolved I remember excitedly telling my mum that "other Pokémon can evolve!"
