The ideas in Pokemon Conquest seem to make a lot of sense. I like the idea of a "personal army" being a limit of four Pokemon, and that healing has to be done through more natural means.
Anyway, I'm always lurking, so if anyone does happen to come across some kind of pre-technology Pokemon fic, feel free to post it.
