>>49096791>Yeah, most of Dark Violet's cringe comes from the story rewriting. What it changes in terms of gameplay is actually quite nice. You know, it's actually pretty strange but the rewriting hasn't bothered me at all.
>Giovanni's wife dies so he decides to make the world suffer>uses his massive evil organization to do itMakes enough sense, kinda makes me think of more 'generic' or at least direct villains like Baron Praxis and such where he just wanted power so he basically paid monsters to attack the city enough to satisfy his rule. The real killer is how redundant the dialogue is, they just keep repeating shit
>So you see, Team Rocket is going to make the world suffer because of what happened thirteen years ago. Thirteen years ago, something happened and my wife was killed, and now I will use Team Rocket to make the world suffer because of that happened.etc etc etc they just repeat the same shit over and over. Now granted, seeing them "murder" the Marowak on-screen was pretty cringe but another time in the hideout they showed a bit of actual restraint when a guy said one room was for the Pokemon they experiment on, and the other was for "The b- nevermind" to imply bodies but not go edgy like "The bodies of the pokemon we MURDER FOR FUN HUEHUEHUEH".
Otherwise, it's been a ton of fun and fairly challenging because of some stuff like the extra rivals, the new gym leader being a thing, extra Rocket executives, etc.
Here's an update on the team, I got a little too greedy and lost Axel in a battle with Green, and learned that Flash Cannon crashes the game if you have the animations on so I had to turn that off.
Oh and Brain Freeze is a Psychic move with the same Base Power as Psybeam but with a Freeze chance. Against Archer he froze my Magnezone and I had to swap, which cost me Iri to a crit.
Back in the more recent present, it requires a "Royal Stone" to evolve Kadabra, which I could both buy or find in Lavender Tower right next to the Shadow Ball TM.
