>>39294761The folks online probably won't buy it true, but you've got to remember that this is a Pokemon game. Even if the parents hate the absolute shit out of what Gamefreak is doing, Little timmy is still going to want to play it, so they buy it for him.
As far as an entry point for the series it's, well to be blunt it's shit, but it's still good enough to pass muster for an 8-10 year old.
Now that being said once they're done with it, and they will be considering there's probably little to no post game content to keep their attention away from Fortnite or whatever the new flavor of the month game is, then sales will plummet, but by then Gamefreak would be able to say "Fuck Gaijin Got Mine" and we'll dance this dance again with the next butchered release they trot out in a year or so.
