Progress Report 001 [03/15/2021]:
Greetings! As you may have seen recently, with the help of a spoofer and non-spoofer friend, I have been able to find three Unown in the past two weeks. However recently, I have been able to bring back 10 past spoofers and coordinate with local coders to help restore and increase the strength of the local scanning service used in past year, and our aim is to now understand the spawning patterns of the Unown and hunt them down. The point of this post is to give as much incite on the issue as I can for anyone else hunting these rare runes or, God forbid, their shiny forms.
What We Know So Far:
>Currently 14 Unown have been tracked at some time since March 1st.
>While I have yet to see a strong correlation between any lurking variables, here are the letters detected so far: C (2x), G, F (2x), I, M, Q, T (2x), U, W (2x).
>Unown seem to only spawn in underpopulated areas, in places such as elite neighborhoods, office parks, and power plants (it may be possible that this spawn rate was increased when spawns were more thoroughly distributed last summer).
>9 of 14 spawns took place near significant bodies of water, though it is suspected this is due to low population than anything else.
>The most common spawn times are from 08:00-13:59 and 22:00-01:59, though there have been two exceptions at 04:00 and 15:10.
>Windy weather seems to influence spawn frequency like all other psychic-type spawn rates.
>Spawn rates spiked starting the Season of Legends, but it's unknown whether or not it is related to the new season (more incite might come in April or May from Niantic).
I hope at least someone was able to take something of value from this post.
