However: Marowak throws boomerangs, wears armor, wears a mask, intimidates its foes through a grim motif, was presumably an orphaned Cubone that Batman took in (dude adopts orphans constantly) and the Lightning Rod ability would be a perfect compliment to Batman's presumed flying types in a doubles match. Marowak works for Batman.
