Gen 3 cucks you out of such a thing by segmenting available pokemon over the core gen 3 games and gen 1 remakes, as well as from Colloseum/GoD. This does not happen with Gen 4 in its entirety just with D/P. FFS they were more definitive editions than fucking Platinum was.
