I was an Advanceshipper back then because they did have chemistry between each other, although I'm fully aware that the series' focus isn't romance and that it's never going to happen with Ash.
However, Serena a qt, and they both deserve each other. They can't just resolve this as staying friends. They can't resolve this with Serena deciding with tears on her eyes to stay in Kalos to become a Performer.
They fucking will, though. And I will be mad. But hey, it's better if we just get accustomed to the fact that it's not happening. The date episode won't really mean anything. This is a one-sided relationship.
