>>54326065I love Hoenn's design philosophy. Not every Hoenn mon is a beast gameplay-wise, but many of them have distinctive designs and intricate lore that just exude sovl. It's always fun using a commonly-overlooked mon on your team only to find out that they're actually quite competent in battle. Hoenn has a ton of options in this regard, like Solrock, Kecleon, Gorebyss, etc.
As much as I love Gen 4, it's definitely where GF ditched this soulful design philosophy and leaned in more towards powercreep, which has been plaguing the series ever since.
