Remakes as straight up ports of previous games with better graphics is boring as shit, and offer a worse off experience than the originals. And GF/TPCI has shown that they're absolutely incapable of making something better than their third versions with LGPE, ORAS and BPSP when FRLG, Emerald and Platinum exist.
So why play worse off remakes with literal removed features after updated third versions with new features? If they're incapable of doing that, they might as well just literally make new games set in the same region with a different take that makes it worth playing.
I'd rather play a completely new game set in Kanto with different route layout, a story focusing on Rocket Team with yourself playing as a Rocket grunt, with new content. Than a millionth Kanto remake with same "beat the league/collect Pokemon" story already experienced in millionth gens.
