There really should have been a tie-in special set at Lisa's school showing how she injured her leg wuth her runner friends drifting away from her as a result of her no-longer being part of the team. You'd have the ones who dropped her straight away and you'd have the ones who tried to stick by and support her only for them to eventually stop hanging out with her as she was taking too much time away from their practice, not to mention how they felt when she had healed but didn't want to take up running again. Also get more Lisa in uniform, which is a bonus.
Hell, they could have her start as a model student, shirt tucked in, collar done up etc. only for her to adopt her current style as she tried to build a new friend group having lost most if not all her runner friends.
