It's both triumphantly and adventures at the same time which fits pretty well with its placement in the story. You just beat your father and learned surf, now it's time to cross into the second half of Hoenn. You meat Steven one more time and then you'll have to fight your way through a rainy jungle till you reach Fortree City.
