The addition of Kanto came last minute as Johto was complete, an addition that actually came as a surprise to the majority of the team. Several things were reworked to incorporate the addition of Kanto postgame, and it was not an addition planned from the get-go. The addition of Kanto was a mistake from a design standpoint because it completely detracted from the overall value of Johto as a whole, so while being a blatant cash grab aimed at players of the original game it also managed to take away heavily from the amazing region that is Johto. You can have your shitty opinion but at least educate yourself a bit. As for HGSS they did slightly approve the level curve, as well as added more options for Pokemon via the safari zone, and expanded several of the smaller kanto and johto areas while also adding even MORE content, so your opinion on those games is even more ridiculous
