I've also bought Monster Sanctuary, Monster Hunter, Nexomon, TemTem, Yo-Kai Watch, Monster Crown, Viva Piñata, Slime Rancher, and Bugsnax. Some of these games are not great, but I still played them. I realy enjoy buying them blindly just to see if they end up being surprise gems (Which was the case for Slime Rancher and Nexomon) and it makes discovering the critters a lot more fun because I have zero clue what they could be.
A big part of why I love Pokemon is that the amount of fan mods and fan game content is enormous. The Pokemon Wilds fan game is insane, and there was a ROM hack I played ages ago where you play as a Team Rocket member with one of your starters either being Koffing, Ekans, or Meowth and it was great. Plus that BW2 mod which ramps up the game's difficulty and has the gym leaders using real Smogon strats against you.
Surely the people who love Pokemon ALSO love monster collecting games, right? It can't just be, "No, only Pokemon and only official games".
