I have about 90 hours in Shield on yuzu. Started my run in April 2020 and played through the entire game at about 20-30% speed and with random bugs and crashes. Keep in mind yuzu was still in its early stages at this point and I was really eager to play SwSh as I had skipped out on LGPE.
What I liked:
>A lot of the new designs, though that's a given for me
>The QOL, such as mints, Ability Capsules and portable PC
>The Gym Battles were memorable and fun
>The DLC was fun, but really should've been a part of the base game
What I disliked (hoo, boy):
>The Dex Cut, self-explanatory
>I didn't care one bit for the Wild Area. Literally didn't touch it outside of the mandatory bits until postgame.
>Battle system is STILL the same as it was 20 years ago (what the fuck is Morimoto even doing?)
>Literally no postgame without DLC, and even then, you're shit out of luck if you seek other things outside of battling. What happened to minigames like the PokéAthlon and contests?
>The Pokémon models look like shit. Steelix is supposed to look like it's made out of STEEL, not plastic.
>Can't turn of EXP share
>Too much handholding
>Characters stopping you every 5 steps to progress the "story"
>The "story"
>The "high quality animations"
>The dog shit graphics
>The region being somehow worse than Unova with its linearity
>Weird pacing. The first Gym felt too late in the story, and there's like 2 rival battles back to back at some point in the story.
>Battles were too easy
>They went so overboard with the Kanto pandering, that they actually horseshoed and cut Bulbasaur and Squirtle but put Charmander in. It's ridiculous.
Someone in this thread said SwSh walked so SV could run, but to me it feels more like SwSh crawled so LA could walk so SV could (maybe, possibly) run.
Those are my thoughts.
