>>40904516The mobile games question is only part of the reason why things turned shite. Mobile might make big buck now, but we have no idea if it will continue to in the long run. It's too much for too little effort, and lawmakers and other busybodies are slowly turning their eyes on this gay circus gambling situation, which it is and justly so. Only an industry crash can save this hobby, unironically.
The second issue is that ongoing game series, or series of any medium for that matter, can't exist forever. Some things are better left off finished, so that their creators are not slaves to basically redo the same thing untill they retire. No creator (albiet a principled one and with ambition) wants that. And so they leave, and hand out their IPs to literal whos who don't share the vision of the creator, nor understand their process. All big IPs that last for more than 10 years, I suppose, inevitably turn to utter, irredimable shit. Miracles happen, but probably not in the case of Pokemon.
Sometimes it's better to move on and to not grow attached to products of faceless corporations. Otherwise, don't complain and save your mental health for things that matter.
