He's a professor who studies the relationships between Pokemon; such as how differing species co-exist or how one species preys on one another. He's prone to taking vacations to try and encounter the various Poison type Pokemon of the world, because as his attire might suggest, he's a big fan of the type and is fairly blatantly biased towards them.
