>>40846501I don't blame you for being disappointed. When I was a kid, I thought Pokemon could do nothing but go up after playing Silver. 16 gyms, a phone to call other trainers, held items, day and night cycles, breeding, decorating your room, a radio, tons of neat mini-secrets like the Friday Lapras, trading forwards and backwards with gen 1, plenty of other stuff. It wasn't perfect and some of those things were really minor, but it felt like they were trying to flesh out the Pokemon world.
Now it doesn't even feel like they're trying. It hasn't for a long time though. They're fixated on their template, just 8 gyms and a Battle Tower clone, maybe a side story episode and some minor things that might be fun, but you know they'll toss out next gen. If I wanted to play Sword and Shield, I may as well just play X/Y or S/M. It's the same shit.
