Going so far as to cheat to make ghastly my first pokemon whenever possible. Sometimes it can get pretty insane like being unable to hurt anything so you need struggle and dark type moves 1 shotting while every level 5 pokemon and their mom has access to bite. you or coming close too making some early battles impossible without items or grinding.
I've also used rock/ground, dragon monotypes but nothing gives satisfaction more than a monotype ghost team led by gengar himself. Even in comp I don't bother going for meta mons unless they happen to fit in the theme of what im doing. I'd rather lose a match than mess up my monotype by putting a clefable or toxipex in there.
