Do what B2W2 did for Unova but for Johto. A time skip with new towns, new routes, new gyms, etc. Pic related.

Plot is something to do with Johto wanting to secede from Kanto and have its own independent league. Central conflict would be between those who support the notion (New Bark Movement) and those who reject it (Indigo Collective). The New League is the result of that.

The New Bark Movement

Objective
>To establish independence of the Johto region from its sister region, Kanto.

Motivation
>To pave the way for new growth and advancement best-suited to Johtonian culture; a force of innovation in this ever-changing world.

Pokemon theme
>Only Pokémon lines native to the Johto region; for example Ampharos, Mismagius, and Wobbuffet.

The Indigo Collective

Objective
>To strengthen the ties between Kanto and Johto and form a single, united region.

Motivation
>To preserve the noble history and traditions of the Kanto and Johto regions; a bastion of stability in this ever-changing world.

I think we can all agree that Johto is incredibly cramped in each iteration. How would you expand the map so that it feels like a satisfying, full-scale region? I'm asking about the geography, stuff like better Pokemon distribution and level curve is pretty obvious.

The player can choose to join one of these movements, bolstering their political strength as they travel Johto and ultimately arrive at the new League as either the inaugural challenger (New Bark Movement) or the permanent conqueror (Indigo Collective).

I haven't, and I'm not sure how I would since it's so drastically different to other maps. I did start a Unova redraw/Kalos but they're much harder to fit on a grid with everything placed correctly and I never finished them (so that's all, OC region excepted).
