After scrummaging through 100 Ranked matches i think i can finally say what Pokemon turned out to be good in this short beta:
>Greninja
This was the most surprising to me. I tried him on Mobile and he was absolute shit, but somehow became pretty Godlike in the Switch Beta. I'm pretty sure he got more HP, but his sustain with WS also got insane, so now he can either go DT/WS for ranged harassing with sustain in case his team needs poke, or commit to Surf/SS or Surf/DT for a burst assassin build. Both playstyles are now reliable. One of the most common characters in my experience and at least 80% of them were very competent, which is way more than i thought. If he remains unchanged in release, he'll be one of the de-facto ranked picks
>Eldegoss
I feel like its always been good. Lots of Poke and the healing is actually great. I still think we need more straight-up supports in this game, but new ones might pale in comparison to Eldegoss unless we get a pokemon completely focused on Heals/Buffs/Debuffs instead of attack given that he small map format kinda means you won't be playing solo often, so TF's happen more frequently, making that extremely useful in the long run
>Cramorant
I'm starting to believe he's better than A-Ninetales, but i guess it's more about him trading A9's CC for Raw Damage. Insane Poke, and with proper teamwork, his Unite Move can level teams.
>Slowbro/Crustle
Unsure about which. Crustle turns into an absolute monster in the late game or when it reaches hi levels, but kinda sucks beforehand. Slowbro, despite not reaching the same highs, is consistent and useful. Telekinesis can be a Gamechanger in the right moment and his passive makes him way tankier than he should
These are just the standouts of the Beta. There are still plenty of other great mons that excel, albeit not as much as these. Talonflame, Pikachu, A9, Snorlax, Cinderace, Lucario, Absol.
Now onto the worst so far...
