Yes, they display inconsistent opinions and shitpost at times, but that's their entire nature. We know their behavior, we have proof of it. We have posts of them linking to threads with their posts in it. Posts from the discord display similar behavior to posts on /vp/. They have an entire genwar channel, for fug's sake.

What they do is find or create threads that interest them on their lonesome, post in them, and the others who are always looking at /vp/ go and support those threads and posts. You can see this in the image you're replying to, where one of them asks the other if that was him and the asked user replies in the affirmative. They're not omnipresent and all-coordinated, but it's foolish to deny that they have an outsized influence on the board.
Though of course, all these words are wasted on someone who has virtually admitted that yes, he is a member of the discord,
