So I'm writing a fanfic that takes place in a Mystery Dungeon-style world, but it does its own thing rather than follow a human-turned Pokemon, or a Rescuer/Explorer guild. One of my main characters is going to be a chef, which leads to a problem I'd otherwise be able to brush under the rug: how do I address meat and Pokemon that eat it?
One solution I had in mind was to make it where sentient and non-sentient Pokemon co-exist in the same world, with the non-sentients looking more overtly bestial while the sentients wear articles of clothing and such, but I don't know if that would still make things weird or not.
