>>41581335The problem with OP's post is that he values one type of emotional experience over another when all of them are completely valid. Luck and good fortunate are also intrinsic to the process of finding shinies intentionally. In some Pokemon games, shinies were straight up given to you. They are not, and never have been, these mythical things that only a few privileged ever got to see. There's no real logic to his post; it's just impotent haranguing about people playing the game in a way that he doesn't like.
I only made the comparison with natures/abilities/moves because it's essentially the same thing. If there was only a 0.1% chance to catch a pokemon with a certain ability, would that ability be any less valuable because it can be bred for? No, it wouldn't, because it would still be rare and would involve a great deal of luck to get it, whether it was obtained intentionally or not. The subjective experience would be different for every person. Someone might catch it accidentally and not care a single bit; another person might jump for joy after getting it through dozens of hours of breeding.
OP's post is like a prescription for one type of experience. It discounts all others.
