As for the reason, the entire thing is just to be able to say I legally own the four shiny Kanto legendaries in 2nd gen, because as I said, I already found all four on LG, and already transferred them to 6th gen. That's it. No joke.
It's honestly pretty stupid on my part. I could just catch them and edit my save with a little program, set their DVs to make them shiny and not a soul could tell the difference.
But hey hey, where's the fun in doing that, right? You know that better than I surely.
